The SVE Rocket was first launched in 2007 and since then the company has sold several hundred both locally and through a network of global distributors. It is a contemporary exo-skeletal sports car developed for both road and track use and adheres closely to Colin Chapman's legendary ethos of 'adding lightness'. It comes in two variants, the R275 and R350, the figures referring to each model's bhp per tonne output. Both models can be tailored to the specific needs and requirements of the individual customer, with a custom build also available. Due to the advent of the Rocket ll, the original car is now known as the Rocket Classic.
The R275 is powered by a 2.0 litre 16v Ford Zetec engine, which puts out 150bhp (275bhp/tonne. The R350 is also powered by a 2.0 litre 16v DOHC Ford Zetec engine, but this version puts out 185bhp (350bhp/tonne).
Both models feature fully adjustable coilover suspension and 4 pot front brake calipers as standard and are available with a number of optional extras for both road and track.
The car featured in the photos is a Rocket Classic painted in iconic JPS Lotus race car livery.
The SVE Rocket Classic R275 and R350 are also available as self-build projects.
