As the marque’s second version of its four-door sports car, the elegant Rapide S remains functional yet luxurious, providing space for up to four adults combined with an engaging driving experience synonymous with all Aston Martins. Four ‘swan wing’ doors provide access to cosseting sports seats both front and rear bestowing occupants with ample accommodation.

Two examples of how Aston Martin improved the design of the world's most beautiful sports four-door sports car are a rear deck profile which enhances aerodynamics and a full-face aluminium grille honed as a single piece by hand, creating a striking front profile.

A 317 litre luggage compartment still affords generous space for belongings for all four passengers whether they be sports bags or indeed, sets of skis, creating an Aston Martin which can be enjoyed on any occasion, anytime, anywhere. Aiding the practicalities of everyday use, the luggage compartment features a movable bulkhead to permit access from the rear cabin while the rear seats fold flat at the touch of a button to create a flat loading space increasing the luggage compartment from 317 litres to 886 litres. 

Rapide S features the new generation AM29 V12, a hand-built 6.0-litre V12 producing 552bhp, an increase of more than 18% over the first generation Rapide.  A Touchtronic 111 ZF eight-speed gearbox automatic transmission features as standard, allowing the driver to change gear automatically or manually via the steering column-mounted paddles. Performance figures for the Rapide S are a 0-60mph (97km/h) time of 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 203mph (327km/h).

Following hot on the heels of the DB11 AMR, Aston Martin has revealed the limited edition Rapide AMR (images 7 & 8). AMR stands for Aston Martin Racing and production of this version is limited to just 210 cars. Fitted wth an uprated version of the Rapide S's V12, performance figures are slightly improved with a quicker 0-60mph (97km/h) time and a higher top speed. Carbon ceramic brakes are fitted as standard, it rides on 21" wheels at a slightly lower ride height, and the suspnsion has received considerable attention.
