Check Out the NEW Aston Martin Valhalla! | FIRST LOOK

Published 15th July 2021. This is the new Aston Martin Valhalla, and a first look to check it out! Join me to take a full tour around the hybrid V8 supercar, fully updated from the original concept a few years prior, and now entering production in 2023. Let's go through all of the details! After launching as the AM-RB 003 concept, Valhalla sits in the line-up between the Valkyrie hypercar and future concept Vanquish sportscar, as part of a 3 tier mid-engine strategy. With Valkyrie on the bring of production commencing, Valhalla will start deliveries in Q4 2023 at a price of £600-700,000 with taxes. It's a series-production offering with no specific limited build number, and will be in production for two and a half years in total. For the production spec Valhalla, it mixes a flat plane crank 4.0l TT V8 with two electric motors for a total hybrid output of 950hp; with 750 coming from the combustion engine and 204hp from the electric motors. The numbers are impressive, as is the target Nurburgring Nordschleife lap time of 6:30. Although there's no interior to explore of this model, it will follow from the original concept with a seating position directly in the tub, with heels above hips to give a real racecar feeling. No doubt it will be a special car to drive! Thanks for watching, Tim

Mika Häkkinen drives the McLaren Solus GT at the Goodwood Festival of Speed
  • Published: 14th July 2024. Two-time McLaren Formula 1 World Champion Mika Häkkinen experienced the epic McLaren Solus GT at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Häkkinen, who won two World Drivers’ Championships with McLaren in 1998 and 1999 – and was part of the 1998 World Constructors’ Championship winning team - is an icon of Formula 1’s V10 era. The single-seater Solus GT, with its dramatic V10 engine and 10,000rpm redline, is evocative of this period in the sport’s history. And the Solus GT driven by Mika is especially mesmerising. One of 25 customer cars that will be built, it has been hand painted by McLaren Special Operations to match the livery of his 1998 championship winning McLaren MP4/13 Formula 1 car, the colours expertly matched and applied.

Mini E: ultimate electric hot hatch? Full road test // Jonny Smith CarPervert
  • Published 2nd March 2020. The Mini E - or Mini Cooper se to be precise - is Mini's first mass produced electric car. They did make a batch of experimental Mini One EVs in 2009, and whilst they had excellent performance the batteries took up the whole back seat area. 10 years later the latest UK-built British icon has been gifted the electric powertrain of its BMW i3 cousin and a few minor trim tweaks to provide a quicker 0-62 than its Honda e arch rival, as well the Peugeot e208, revised VW e-Up! and Renault Zoe. With a WLTP range of 145 miles, however, is it enough to be a convincing purchase against the other electric hatches in this sub £30,000 supermini class? Testing the new leccy Mini in the real world is vital, so I drove it on a suitably Mini adventure from Oxfordshire to Swindon to meet up with a classic Austin Rover Mini that can be ordered with fully electric conversion. The Swind-E is the product of Swindon Powertrain, a company who balance hyper e-bike manufacture with BTCC touring car engine building, and soon an off-shelf e-axle electric motor conversion kit to purchase. I will be driving the Swind-E in detail on another episode of CarPervert, as well as a full factory tour of Swindon Powertrain, who in their 50 year lifespan have been involved in F1, WRC and even the forthcoming Lotus Evija EV hypercar project. Thank you for watching. If you haven't already, click the bell icon to alert you when the next CarPervert video lands. Filmed by Mark Taylor-Hankins and Nick Poole. Morgan 3 Wheeler: Last Of The Line
  • Published 26th August 2021 After a decade of the model, the current Morgan 3 Wheeler finishes production this year with 33 P101 special editions and a limited run of bespoke models. Our latest video captures a moment in time as the last few are built in the workshops at Pickersleigh Road. Re-introduced in 2011, the Morgan 3 Wheeler continued a legacy of three-wheeled Morgan cars that stretched back to our founding year of 1909. Watch this space for what comes next, as we have said before "The Morgan 3 Wheeler will return"...
