Last Updated On: 22/05/2020
Norton currently manufacture the Dominator and two versions of the Commando 961 Mk2: the Cafe Racer and the Sport. A limited edition Commando 961 Street version is also offered. Just 50 will be built.
All three models are powered by the Norton 961cc parallel twin with hydraulic push-rod valve actuation and dry sump lubrication and driven through a constant mesh 5-speed gearbox. The engine was built and developed in-house at the Norton UK factory and has a power output of 80ps @6500RPM and torque of 90Nm @ 5200RPM. It also features crank-fired electronic fuel injection and multiple 2 way catalytic convertors. All models are stopped by a full Brembo braking system.
Following on from the success of the Domiracer comes the production Dominator (images 1-3). Built using high specification components whilst maintaining a classic appearance and style.
The Commando 961 Cafe Racer was built to replicate the old style cafe racers with all modern components and engineering whilst maintaining a classic appearance and style.
The Commando 961 Sport is based on the original design for the Commando with conventional forks to give a smooth, more comfortable ride and better aesthetic.
The Commando 961 California features an American style colour scheme, high handlebars, polished wheel rims and a carbon fibre flyscreen.
All Commando 961 models are available with the dual seat option which is available in all colours (image 8). The dual seat option gives a rider and pillion seat as well as a single seat configuration. The easy to attach single seat cowl quickly turns the bike back into the stylish single seat form.
All models have a factory fit options and accessories list.
