Suffolk Sportscars - Suffolk C-Type Jaguar Price: POA

Last Updated On: 08/07/2018

The Suffolk C-Type Jaguar is a faithful replica of Jaguar's first real racing car from the early 1950s, the C-Type, which enjoyed enormous success at Le Mans over several years. Suffolk Sportscars' Jaguar car is dimensionally completely accurate having been especially moulded off C-Type 039 with its undamaged original Jaguar Works alloy body. The bodywork is GRP with extensive alloy panelling, the GRP giving it great strength and every effort has been made to make the Suffolk C-Type as close to the original Jaguar cars as possible.

Two models of C-Type were built by Jaguar Cars. The 1951 car had two SU carburettors and no bonnet air scoop and the 1953 version had three Webber carburettors and an air scoop on the bonnet. Engine sizes can be exactly as the original 3.4 litres. However, the 3.8 and 4.2 litre variants can be specified, all in various stages of tune. The standard gearbox is the Jaguar Short Compact 4-speed with overdrive, but the 5-speed Tremec gearbox is an option.

Dynamically the Suffolk C-Type Jaguar performs exactly as the original and speeds of up to 150mph/241km/h are readily achievable. Each car takes approximately 4-5 months to complete from receipt of order.

The Suffolk C-Type Jaguar is also available as a self-build project.
